Is the desktop dead?

How many of us use some sort of ultraportable device? Tablets, cellphone, netbooks and laptops. Now with the macbook air and other ultra portables, are the days of the old cream colored, under desk box numbered? With the release of the new samsung galaxy note it seems that Bill Gates dream of a fully touch screen computing experience is just here now.
